About The Collections

The artifact collection associated with the Pioneer Museum is governed by the Gillespie County Historical Society. The Society’s collection provides fascinating insight into the immigration to and settlement of the Texas Hill Country and the 150+ years of Fredericksburg history.

The Society’s collection reinforces the Pioneer Museum’s mission to share the cultural panorama of the Texas Hill Country through acquisition, preservation and exhibition of materials representative of local German-Texan culture. The Society actively strives to further advance the collection’s organization and accessibility for future research and interpretation.
