Living History – Experience Life on the Frontier

With the crispness of Fall in the air, the Pioneer Museum opens its grounds for Log Cabin Days on the second Saturday of every October. This is a special annual event for families to experience life on the frontier.

Our next Log Cabin Days will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012, 10am-5pm.

Join us for a day of old-fashioned, hands-on activities, including rope making, churning butter, grinding corn, spinning wool, creating seed art, and washing linens with a scrub board. See demonstrations of how to weave a coiled wool basket, blacksmithing in the Fredericksburg area, and an interpretation of what it was like to be in a one-room school in the early days of Fredericksburg's history.

Activities and demonstrations take place during regular museum hours, 10am to 5pm.
